Zodiac Hoodie of the Week- The Dog

The Dog the 11th Zodiac
Dog possess the best traits of human nature. He has a deep sense of loyalty, is honest, and inspires other people's confidence. With that being said Dog can be somewhat selfish at times and terribly stubborn. He cares very little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. Maybe he can teach you a good trick or two since he makes a great leader.

(Wondering why he is green, well that is my son's favorite color and the dog is his Zodiac so of course he needed to be green)

Welcome to the pack my friend. :)

Studio Gibli Art Dolls (A Day Late)

Sorry about that, I know that I said I was going to have this gallery up yesterday but I got a bit tied up and didn't end up getting a chance to post. So without further delay here are my Studio Ghibli Dolls...

Radish Spirit, from Spirited Away, I am very happy with how he turned out. He was a bit of a challenge for some reason.

This is Makkurokurosuke "aka soot ball" He can be seen in the film "Spirited Away" and also makes an appearance in "My Neighbor Totoro"

Here is Boh and Haedori, they can both be seen in "Spirited Away"

Here is Ootori-sama "aka the Duck Spirit" also from Spirited Away

My Kodomas from Princess Monok.

Another soot ball this one caring his heavy coal to keep the fires of the bath house going.

Here is Turnip Head from "Howl's Moving Castle"

My set of Totoros from "My Neighbor Totoro"

And there they are for now. I have a going list of who else I want to make. I am pretty sure that Mae from "My neighbor Totoro" is next on the list. I try to get  a new pattern and doll done a month but since things have been picking up a bit and I have some other designs I need to work on, it may be a bit before I add anyone new.

Well it was a busy weekend here at the fort, even so I was able to get quite a bit done. I was finally able to finish my latest Ghibli Doll. So without further ado here is Turnip Head, from one of  my personal favorites, "Howl's Moving Castle".

Sorry for the poor picture quality but my camera is like 100 years old and takes horrid inside pictures, and even though spring is here it is cold outside still. :p Tomorrow I plan on throwing up a gallery of all my other Studio Ghibli Art dolls also you can check out my dolls in a post on Hot*Pop's Blog http://hotpop.tumblr.com/

So did any one guess who the pile of parts where a few post back? Any one familiar with Adventure Time. It is a great show, and who the heck can't love the characters. I figured one of my Hoodies would love to dress as Finn the main character. So here he is green back pack and everything. Soon to be joined by his best bud Jake.

He is also now available in the shop. Happy weekend everyone!!!

Exciting News!!!! Hot*Pop

Exciting news for those in the Milwaukee area. My plushies can now be purchased at the Hot*Pop shop located in the Historic Ward downtown. It is a great shop, they have tons of fun things that I have a hard time not buying it all when I am in there. I mean check out this little cutie I picked up last time I was there.
She is a momiji doll, they have so many cute ones to choose from

I know those are knitting needles not crochet hooks, but close enough. The black cat sold me since I have a sweet little black kitty for real, and I am pretty sure my head is one big ball of yarn these days. Any way the shop is selling a lot of my Studio Ghibli Art Dolls ( I know I have not formally introduced those on here yet but it is coming), and a couple of Hoodies. Please go in and check it out, not to just check out my stuff but the store is really great too. Check out their website for their address and blog.  http://www.hotpopshop.com/

Zodiac Hoodie of the Week: The Rooster

The Rooster the 10th Zodiac
What you see is exactly what you get, when it comes to this little guy. There really are no hidden depths to Rooster's character. He is neither complicated
or profound. He is very forthright and straightforward. I guess you can say he will tell it like it is.

Rooster loves to be noticed and flattered. He may dress a bit flashily from time to time, but in his heart, he is a complete conservative.
Though Rooster always appears attractive and beautifully turned out. He is quite sociable and loves to receive attention.

Welcome to the group my friend. :)

So at the end of each week I figured I could give you guys a glimpse of some of the things that I have been crocheting. Maybe it will help keep my task orientated. Now that would be something. :)

Here are two Zodiac Heads one for next weeks new one and one for an oldie, also here is the start to the doll I am going to make for my daughter for Easter. Can any one guess what kind of doll she is modeled after. Hmmm may be to soon to tell.

Here are all the yarns I need for my up coming batch of Kawaii Bears

Here is my start to Turnip Head from Studio Ghibli's "Howl's Moving Castle"

And last but not least I started and finished the pattern and this little guy.
I feel like I am forgetting something. Hmmm, well if I remember I will add it to the post, but for now that is what I have been working on for the week. I was happy that I was able to get a few things checked off of my every growing list. I wonder what I will have done this time next week. Until then I guess. :)

Zodiac Hoodie for the Week - The Sheep

The Sheep, the 8th Zodiac
Sheep enjoy being alone in their thoughts. They’re creative, thinkers, wanderers, unorganized, high-strung and insecure, and can be anxiety-ridden. They need lots of love, support and reassurance. Appearance is important too. (Hence the purple hair).

Welcome to the bunch. :)

Zodiac Hoodie Dolls

The Zodiac Hoodie Dolls started out as a game for my daughter's second birthday party. I wanted to create twelve, well thirteen because we can't forget the cat, and hide them all over the house for her to find. I even made a big poster will all the little guys on them so she knew what to look for. Unfortunately I did not come up with the idea till 4 days before her birthday. I tried my best but I was only able to design and make 6 of them. I was very sad, but she still loved finding the ones that I had made. I loved how they turned out so much that I figured others may like them, esp if they are like me and love things like the story behind the Chinese Zodiac. Of course I couldn't just sell the dolls without the fun info that there is about that particular zodiac. So with each little guy I make a hand water colored card that holds all sorts of fun info in it. Like the years for that animal, their colors, traits, Japanese word for the animal, who they are compatible with and a lot more. There is even a paragraph or two describing the personality of the animal you receive. I have had a blast making these little guys, but I do have to say with my list of things to do I have only been able design a few new ones, but once a week I introduce one new Zodiac. Last week was the Monkey. I will give a proper intro on here to the following animals that are already up and ready to go though. So without further adieu here they are.....

The Horse, the 7th Zodiac

The Tiger, the 3rd Zodiac

The Monkey, the 9th Zodiac

The Rabbit, the 4th Zodiac

The Rat, the 1st Zodiac

The Ox, the 2nd Zodiac

The Snake, the 6th Zodiac

The Dragon, the 5th Zodiac

Kawaii Bears

Since I was little I had a passion for plush esp. Bears. Even now as an adult I have Teddy Bears scattered around my home as decorations. I am a big kid at heart and I still think to this day that my cute stuffed things have feelings that I would crush if I ever dared give them away to Goodwill or something along those lines. I'm a bit off my rocker I know, any way, I took my said love of Bears and really wanted to design and make one all my own. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted it to look like and what I wanted to make them out of. Lucky for me I am going to be an aunt and while shopping for the greatest baby blanket making yarn I found just the stuff I was looking for to make my cute little guys. I stocked up and got to work and then and there my Kawaii Bears were born. They really are so soft, every time I make a new bear my daughter has to take it and hug it and rub it against her cheek. I guess you could say she giver her blessing to everyone. I love making them and I love naming them. I am a bit obsessed. Each one has their Birthday, the day they are completed, an original name (usually from the anime that I am currently watching), and some type of accessory. The possibilities are endless and I love it. I have a number of bears waiting in my Etsy shop to be adopted and once you get them you sure will be glad you did. I am sure the second you rub their soft fur against your cheek you won't be able to help yourself from saying, "Kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii". So now let me introduce you to the group currently waiting to be adopted.

I do have three more newly born bears (esp for the upcoming holiday and Spring season) that I do not have pictures of yet. I also have brand new packaging for these guys that I will post in a later entry. Just be prepared for fun colors and major Kawaiiness (not sure if that is even a word, oh well "add to dictionary") :)

Some Old Characters

My Dango Family Original Pattern from Clannad
So I figured I would start of by posting some of my older crochet items. Most of them were gifts to my children or specific things that they asked for, and me being the Mommy with all the time in the world I most definitely just dropped everything I was doing to make a pattern and crochet these lovelies for them.
